It is very important to get this wind mitigation report to your insurance company for a quote during your inspection period. Other lesser factors are construction type, roof age, roof geometry and hurricane protection. You will be surprised how little the savings are for hurricane shutters on a home. Finding the right Florida home inspector is very important. Remember these inspectors are general inspectors and are not specialized. If you are looking at Jupiter waterfront properties you may want to get a seawall company to come out and inspect the wall and your docks. Seawalls are very expensive.
Home construction can also determine insurance costs and maintenance costs as well as effect the costs of energy to cool and heat the home.
